The One Thing You Should Teach your kids about Adults
Trying to get through to kids to keep them safe can be a challenge!!
They are naturally curious and get conflicting instructions from the parents, one moment they are told to not to talk to strangers while the next moment they are being told to say hello to the ‘Nice Man’
Keeping things simple and easy to understand is essential to your child’s ability to stay safe.
Here is a rule I give to parents who take our two-day or 12-week course
“ Teach your Kids that No Adult needs help from a Child.”
Tell them no-one needs help, to find their pet, shop or direction or any other made up excuse designed to create 'forced rapport"
... and no caring adult needs a child to keep a secret from their parents
Explain to them that caring adult would never ask them to go anywhere with them, and if it ever happens they must get to you or the adult in charge immediately.
It’ s that simple - Teach them if asked for Help from an adult they go to you.
